Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating. Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.

Workstation

  • 13” MacBook Air, M1, 8GB RAM (2020)

I love the simplicity of the design and the weight of this device. The M1 chip is strong enough to develop modern websites and mobile apps on top of running various things at once.

Development tools

  • Visual Studio Code

Even without the multitude of extensions and advanced IDE capabilities that others might depend on, Visual Studio Code remains the unparalleled choice for coding, striking a perfect balance between simplicity and power.

  • Warp

Effortless efficiency meets sleek design. Command-line tasks become a breeze with its lightning-fast interface. The theme option and UI make it comfortable to work with cli for a long time.

  • TablePlus

Great software for working with databases. Has saved me from building about a thousand admin interfaces for my various projects over the years.

Design

  • Figma

Figma is an exceptional design tool, revolutionizing the way I approach UI/UX projects. It's streamlined my workflow, eliminating the need for numerous design tools and software, and has been a game-changer in collaborative designing.
